Samsung SGH-F480

The Samsung SGH-F480 is a touch screen 3.5G capable mobile phone and it has multimedia features. The slim design sports a metallic finish and is said to be similar, Samsung’s own SGH-i900 Omnia. They do share some similarities one of which is the new touch UI with haptic feedback.

Features

The Samsung SGH-F480 has a 2.8-inch QVGA (240 x 320 pixels) LCD display. It also has the MicroSD card slot that supports up to 8GB and also maintains its own internal memory with a capacity of 240MB to store your contacts, messages and music files. The camera shutter button and multi-function jack are on the right side of the phone. The multi-function jack is proprietary and provides audio for headphones, battery charging and USB connectivity to a computer. The SGH-F480 uses a 3.7V Lithium-Ion battery. The main screen navigation shows Dial, Phonebook and Menu options that are easily accessed by the touch screen. The Menu offers a variety of coloured icon functions including Music Player, Internet, Camera, Bluetooth and Phone settings. A notable feature is the Widget which allows users to customize the user interface to suit their personal preferences and example of Widgets such as Analogue Clock, Birthday List, Games, Photo Album and Music Player. The neat ability is to easily move them on or off the toolbar or to the idle screen. Under the settings options, you can configure phone, call, memory, network, display and light settings. A Master reset option is included to easily put the phone back to the original factory settings. With the HSDPA connectivity you can still browse the Internet with the built-in application. The SGH-F480 is equipped with two cameras, one on the front and one at the rear. The rear camera is capable of taking still images and videos. It is a 5-megapixel auto focusing camera with a LED (Light Emitting Diode) flash. The default orientation of the camera is landscape so you will need to hold the camera horizontally. There is an abundance of camera configurations like ISO, flash, white balance, exposure and self-timer. In addition, it also has anti-share, face detection and 6 scene modes (Portrait, Sports, Sunset, Dawn, Beach/Snow and Night shot). Five shooting modes included - Single, Multi, Mosaic, Panorama and Smile offers a multitude of combinations. One complaint about the camera functionality is the zoom. It is not an optical zoom and only accessible via a menu on the left side of the display. The camcorder mode captures video in 3GP format at a resolution of 176 by 144 pixels.
